no pedestrian crossing signs

Pennsylvania has more signs prohibiting pedestrian crossings than any other state. Here, it is not possible to reach the far corner of the intersection by crossing in either direction. However, pedestrians have to cross the street somewhere regardless of how many signs PennDOT puts up. Such signs indicate a failure of the transportation system to care for its most vulnerable users.
