Pedestrians
and bicyclists take advantage of a "bump out" overlook on
the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Trail. The Woodrow Wilson Bridge takes I-95
across the Potomac River between Virginia and Maryland at the southern
tip of Washington, DC. The ped-bike trail enables non-motorized modes
to cross the Potomac, too, shaving miles off of the nearest alternative
route. In addition to its role as an important transportation link
for peds and bikes, amenities such as the overlooks make the bridge
itself a destination.
